Deck Example 2

When planning your new deck, consider the addition of and creative use of benches, planters, and planter bench combinations. They are a functional and appealing way to dress up a deck, and control traffic through or across various areas of the deck, as the photo on the left depicts.

Consider constructing the deck as an extension of a concrete walk or patio. The deck in the photo on the right was designed at ground level for a graduation party. Additionally, it was constructed to match the slope of the existing concrete pad. This made the deck fully accessible to any guest who may be in a wheelchair, and eliminated any possible trip hazard. 

If the initial price of the composite deck materials is within your budget, consider its use in place of wood deck boards for much lower maintenance and upkeep costs.
